Gryphon I GD4100

The Gryphon I linear imaging readers provide advanced reading performance and decoding for a wide variety of applications. The Gryphon GD4100 readers’ ability to capture bar codes from near contact to over 1.0 m / 3.9 ft increases productivity and improves ergonomics for users. A wide scan angle reads very wide codes and renewed decoding capabilities increase throughput on hard-to-read, poor or damaged codes. All of these features combined with high-resolution decoding for labels as small as 3 mils, establishes the Gryphon I GD4100 readers as high-performance products and powerful data capture solutions.

Datalogic’s exclusive patented ‘Green Spot’ technology for good-read feedback directly on the code is ideal under dim lighting conditions or noisy environments. The Green Spot, together with the fast reading and decoding capabilities make the Gryphon I GD4100 readers the best choice to improve productivity in retail and office environments, hospitals, pharmacies and manufacturing plants.

Pros and application of Datalogic GD4100 / GD4130 / GD4132

a. Parameter specification

Datalogic Gryphon GD4100 barcode scanner is a multi-field low-cost version for businesses. With its rugged and durable design, it can work in a variety of environments and working conditions. Datalogic has equipped this 1D barcode reader as follows:

  • The chassis is constructed of ultra-light plastic and has a substantial thickness with construction of 18.1 x 10 x 7.1 cm. It feels light to hold and easy to carry anywhere. Machine without cord also lighter weight (about 169 grams). This plastic also makes the device highly resistant to moisture and the impact caused by dropping or throwing.
  • The reader is able to accept rotating, ray, or tilting at an angle while still performing the process of reading product bar codes. The company is only equipped with a 1D code reader for the machine to suit more businesses selling products. The majority of barcodes on goods are only registered GS1 or GS1 Databar codes.
  • The supported communication ports are numerous. From USB COM, Keyboard, Alternate Keyboard, RS-232 ports to peripherals such as Wincor, Std and OPOS count IBM and Digital Terminals ports.
  • The reader supports many different types of scanning for many working environments such as single scanning, multi-barcode scanning at the same time.
  • The machine is constructed to start quickly with only 100 milliseconds.
  • The cooler's scanning light passes a maximum of 100,000 ambient light units (lux).

b. Benefit from structure

With one of the pretty cool and clever builds for a barcode scanner, you'll get amazing performance back. That's also the feature and why you should consider the 4130 and 4110 of this GD4100 Series.

  • Barcode reading speed on products up to more than 320 scans/sec. Either directional bar codes can still be read because they feature omnidirectional readability for the 1D. Symbols have a minimum bar size from 3 mils to 20 mils.
  • One machine can withstand the temperatures of most environments, up to 55 degrees C in operation and 70 degrees C in storage.
  • Electromagnetic factors of 16kV or less do not affect the machine.
  • The ability to support good information transmission into POS machines helps to calculate, print invoices, and display prices faster, thereby reducing payment time for customers.

With a Datalogic handheld barcode reader, the GD4100 Series is the cheapest and most efficient Gryphon 1D series of scanners. The cost will gradually go up from 4100 to 4500 (current latest version). If you are looking for a machine that is cheaper but more durable than the entry prices like the quickscan or the Voyager, the Gryphon 4100 is worth it.
